**Morpho (Safran), through its subsidiary** [**Morpho Detection**](http://www.morpho.com/detection/?lang=en), today announced the [Itemiser® 4DX](http://www.morpho.com/detection/see-all-products/trace-detection/itemiser-r-4dx/) desktop explosives trace detector (ETD) has been added to the Australian Office of Transport Security’s Aviation Security Screening Equipment List.

As a result, [Itemiser 4DX](http://www.morpho.com/detection/see-all-products/trace-detection/itemiser-r-4dx/) is now approved for airport screening of passengers and baggage in Australia. Built on the industry-leading Itemiser ETD platform, Itemiser 4DX delivers advanced explosives detection and screening capabilities powered by a non-radioactive ITMS™ (Ion Trap Mobility Spectrometer) source. Optimized for ease-of-use and mobility, Itemiser 4DX eliminates the administrative, regulatory, storage and shipping requirements associated with a radiation-emitting trace detection source.

“Morpho is pleased the Office of Transport Security has recognized the explosives detection and operational capabilities of Itemiser 4DX by approving it for use at airports throughout Australia,” said Karen Bomba, president and CEO, [Morpho Detection](http://www.morpho.com/detection/?lang=en). “By combining Itemiser 4DX’s advanced explosives screening capabilities with a global service footprint and rapid-response capabilities, Morpho offers a comprehensive, unmatched end-to-end solution.”

Leveraging long-life consumables and internal calibration, Itemiser 4DX seeks to minimize operational costs for airports and air cargo facilities, law enforcement agencies and government and critical infrastructure installations. A global leader in trace detection technology, Morpho has deployed ETD systems to airports, correctional facilities, defense installations and border crossings throughout Australia.
